After eighteen years and more than thirty trophies at Stella Bella, including the 2020 Luminosa named Halliday's Chardonnay of the Year on 98 points and the 2022 Luminosa named Best in Show at the Decanter World Wine Awards, Luke has narrowed everything to one wine: a single Chardonnay from the Kudardup vineyard near Augusta, at the cool southern tip of Margaret River.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp style=\"text-align: center;\"\u003e100% Gingin clone, hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented and matured around eighteen months in French oak hogsheads. It’s lively with a juicy lime and white nectarine flavour, spicy oak, quite savoury – a parmesan rind umami thing here – a flinty grip to it, nori, salt and vinegar crisps, and a pear drizzled finish of excellent length. Anyway, a cool wine both by nature and climat. A whole lot of zest and energy.
