This shows superb density and a center palate of sweet plum flavors with spice, dried fruit and brightness. Full and lively.

James Halliday, National Times (Nov. 1982)
Medium deep red with a touch of brown on the rim, good for age. lively fruit with camphor fresh and with good balance. Fresh lively camphor/fruit; low to medium tannin. An excellent drinking red far more approachable than any of the other wines from the 70s.
Penfolds
Lives in the shadow of the 1971 vintage and never achieved a big reputation.
