'The 2023 Barrels of Metricup Chardonnay leads with pineapple and pressed linen, yellow peach and Pink Lady apples. In the mouth, the wine is rich and full, loaded with opulent fruit and exotic spice. Everything is kept in check, and there is a long spool of flavor through the finish. For a mild, long year, this is concentrated, powerful and ripe. It's really good. '

'It’s always a delight to try Barrels of Metricup next to its sibling, Wildberry Springs. Different, as they should be, yet a thread of L.A.S Vino style links them. This is more textural, layered with flavour and coming out rather savoury, although there’s some dried pear, lemon and grapefruit, too. More oxidative notes add complexity alongside preserved, salty lemon and rind, white miso and grilled almonds, clotted cream lees and honeycomb.'

'This is such a powerful wine. Talk about putting on a show. Ripe peach, grapefruit, nougat and gorgeous, crushed fennel characters come infused with green pineapple, almond cream and salted citrus. It has more than a little flair, and texture, but it's neat and precise to close. I like this rather a lot. It brings the muscle, it brings the control, it brings flavour.'
