A 67/33% grenache/tempranillo fermented and aged separately in small concrete vats, no oak used. It’s heady with florals, raspberry leaf, red lollies and menthol, a touch of sarsaparilla but lots of savouriness here. Red fruits dot the fuller-bodied palate as do textural, sandy tannin. And yet with all the texture there’s a smoothness, too. It’s simply a delicious, very satisfying drink.

This classic Spanish blend opens with vibrant aromas of cherry and strawberry confection, lifted by fragrant violets and myrtle pepper. Whole-cluster inclusion in this stellar vintage brings added aromatic complexity, with notes of sweetened chai spice and orange peel.

The palate is soft and juicy, showing sweet red fruit and energy. Crunchy black cherries and red liquorice from Grenache lead the charge, while Tempranillo adds structure, spice, and savoury appeal. A wine made for long lunches, shaded tapas bars, and good company.
