2015 Vasse Felix Premier Cabernet Sauvignon:
97 points - Ray Jordan
Captures the elegance of this great vintage. Doesn't have the density and opulence of the 2014 but there is classic angular structure. Typical graphite, soy and savoury notes with a hint of tobacco leaf with black olive nuance. Classy oak integration and fine-grained tannins. One of the very finest that marks the next statement of Vasse Felix cabernet. Ridiculously cheap for a wine of this quality. Best drinking: Now to 2030
96 points - Tyson Stelzer
2015 is one of the great seasons in the distinguished history of this site, at once more elegant than ever, with super fine, silky tannins and irresistible allure, yet at the same time with the confidence and poise to age effortlessly. It's seamlessly crafted and perfectly polished, a tribute to the wizardry of Virginia Willcock and her team.
2016 Vasse Felix Premier Cabernet Sauvignon:
97 points - Ray Jordan
Elegant and stylish, with grainy tannins and a touch of leafy oyster shell. Great oak and fruit integration, with a minerally purity. It's a most polished wine showing the increased wild fermentation contribution. Benefits from some old vine material that doesn't make the Cullity. 97/100. Best drinking: Now to 2035.
96 points - The Real Review
Pure and pristine fruit aromatics. Gorgeous detail and fragrance. The palate, laden with blueberries, red currants and cassis, is beautifully poised and balanced with all of the elements in perfect harmony. It’s like a finely tailored garment where nothing is out of place. It is drinking well now, though it will also age gracefully.
2018 Vasse Felix Premier Cabernet Sauvignon:
97 points - Ray Jordan
Deep and concentrated power delivered with integrated elegance and poise. This is classically structured cabernet, displaying all the power and purpose you get from this variety in a great year from Margaret River. Chalky tannins, powerhouse middle core with a great lingering finish. Deep, leafy, oyster shell, cabernet minerality. You simply must get some of this.
96 points - Halliday's Wine Companion
Not enough can be said in favour of the 2018 vintage, producing wines just like this. Powerfully ripe and dense, with epic length of flavour. This is a structural and concentrated cabernet capable of decades of graceful evolution in the cellar. Wild raspberry, salted licorice, aniseed, pomegranate, ferrous and kelp. Saline acid. It comes in at under $50, and long may that continue, for it is one of the great-value premium wines of the region.
