Charles Heidsieck is one of the great names of Reims, celebrated for the richness and long lees ageing of its Champagnes, and 1985 was a small but superb vintage that produced wines of remarkable staying power. The 1985 Charles Heidsieck Brut Millesime Rose earned 96 points from Wine Spectator, which found it alive and kicking at fourteen years of age with mellow, complex fruit and a creamy texture. Decades on, this is a mature rose Champagne of genuine pedigree, offering the kind of depth and harmony that only time can bring.
What a wonderful rose Champagne. Puts it all together, with lively balance, a creamy texture and a lingering finish. The fresh fruit flavors are mellow and complex, but alive and kicking at 14 years old - Wine Spectator (96 pts)
A fully mature rose for the table, best served only lightly chilled.
“What a wonderful rose Champagne. Puts it all together, with lively balance, a creamy texture and a lingering finish. The fresh fruit flavors are mellow and complex, but alive and kicking at 14 years old. Drink now through 2002. Tasted twice, with consistent notes. 12,500 cases made.”
