1998 Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic Reviews
94 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
“Medium to full red-purple; sweet berry fruit and sweet, spicy French oak support a bouquet showing good ripeness and no volatile acidity problems whatsoever. The palate confirms the convincing return to form, notwithstanding the challenges of the growing season. The wine has a seductive structure, and soft, persistent tannins.”
86 Points - Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate
“Howard Park's 1998 blend of Cabernet Sauvignon (75%), Cabernet Franc (13%), and Merlot (12%) spent two years in French oak before bottling. It is a firmly-structured, attractive effort offering aromas of cedar, underbrush, black currants, and spice. Medium-bodied and moderately concentrated with firm tannin, it should drink well now and over the next 7-8 years.”
