2018 Arnaud Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes

Critic Reviews
93 Points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy
“From 80 to 120 year old vines in En Champs, Combes du Dessus, and Aux Echezeaux. Thirteen barrels have been produced from just under a hectare. Denser purple, the nose is hidden because this is going to be a long-term winner, not a sprinter. Really stylish with a density of dark fruit, some black cherries. Arnaud would like to bottle this all in magnums (to be confirmed...). Tasted Nov 2019. (91-93 pts)”
95 Points - Neal Martin, Vinous
“The 2018 Gevrey-Chambertin Vieilles Vignes comes from three parcels of extremely old vines, one plot up to 120 years of age. Despite a little reduction, this is very intense, offering darker fruit than the regular Gevrey Village. The palate is medium-bodied with succulent red fruit on the entry laced with blood orange, fine tannins and a compact but quite sustained finish. A hint of fresh fig appears on the aftertaste. Superb. (93-95 pts)”
