Corton is the only red Grand Cru of the Cote de Beaune, a great hill of vines whose wines combine Cote de Nuits structure with a mineral, savoury edge of their own. Joseph Drouhin, the Beaune house known for its elegant, lightly extracted style, makes a Corton Grand Cru that leans towards finesse rather than muscle. The 2020 vintage gave ripe fruit with real freshness, and this Corton earned 94 points from Wine Spectator, which singled out its vibrancy, refined tannins and underlying minerality.
Cherry, kirsch, raspberry and spice aromas and flavors are the hallmarks of this vibrant, elegant red, which offers fine balance, refined tannins and nice length. There's an underlying mineral element as this builds to the lingering finish. - Wine Spectator (94 pts)
