Review for Decanter
The 2022 Chambertin is monumental: supremely ripe black cherry, plum and cassis wrapped in spice and floral tones. Immense depth of flavour, dense and compact texture, and near-infinite complexity as it opens in the glass. Less immediately generous than Clos de Bèze, but with greater ultimate substance and longevity. Likely to age a century (2035–2100).

96–99 Points, Jasper Morris MW
Inside Burgundy — Nov 2023
Glowing crimson purple. The bouquet shows all the civilised sensuality one hopes for in Rousseau’s Chambertin. A glorious, classic nose. Any slight dryness will be absorbed by the weight of fruit. The palate surges with dense, dark strawberry fruit and magnificent depth.

95–98 Points, Allen Meadows – Burghound
Date: Jan 2024 — Drink: 2037+ — Issue: 93 — “Don’t Miss!”
A more restrained and less oak-inflected nose somewhat grudgingly reveals airy red cherry, dark currant, freshly turned earth, sauvage notes and a dazzling array of spices. The palate is tautly muscular yet strikingly refined, shaped by dense but exceptionally fine-grained tannins. The superbly persistent finish fans out beautifully on the palate. One of the stars of the 2022 vintage.

95–97 Points, William Kelley – Robert Parker’s The Wine Advocate
Date: Jan 2024
Aromas of sweet raspberries and cherries mingle with orange zest, incense and spice in a complex bouquet. The palate is full-bodied, deep and layered — concentrated, precise and penetrating. One of the least evolved wines in the cellar, but impressively fine-boned for such a warm vintage.
