The 2022 Bruno Desaunay-Bissey Grands-Echezeaux Vieilles Vignes is a Grand Cru red Burgundy from old vines on the renowned Grands-Echezeaux slope in the Cote de Nuits.
Domaine Desaunay-Bissey is a small, family-run estate based in Flagey-Échezeaux, Burgundy, which cultivates parcels in Échezeaux, Grands-Échezeaux, Vosne-Romanée and surrounding appellations under sustainable farming practices. Bruno Desaunay-Bissey (who passed in 2023) was known for his low intervention winemaking—short pre-fermentation macerations, use of indigenous yeasts, gentle extraction, and aging with a moderate proportion of new oak—designed to highlight terroir over manipulation. The Grands-Échezeaux bottling is drawn from an old-vine parcel at a key locus of the Grand Cru triangle, strategically bordered by Musigny, Clos Vougeot and Échezeaux, reflecting some of the most esteemed and tightly controlled terroir in the Côte de Nuits. - KLwines.com
