Domaine Ponsot is one of the great traditional houses of Morey-Saint-Denis, known for late harvesting, minimal intervention and wines that unfold slowly over decades. Cuvee des Alouettes is the domaine's Morey-Saint-Denis Premier Cru red, drawn from the Clos des Monts Luisants high on the slope, a site better known for Ponsot's famous white but which also gives Pinot Noir of tension and chalky structure. The 2022 Domaine Ponsot Cuvee des Alouettes Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru earned 92-94 points from Neal Martin (Vinous) and 91-93 points from William Kelley (Wine Advocate), both noting its fine structure and ageing potential.

“The 2022 Morey-Saint-Denis Cuvee Allouettes 1er Cru has quite a tertiary bouquet, touches of peppermint infusing the black fruit, a bit of blue fruit emerging with time. The palate is medium-bodied with fine structure and quite sapid. It tightens a little toward the finish, but otherwise, this has aging potential. (92-94 pts)”
