Frankland River (WA)

Frankland River sits within Western Australia's Great Southern and is one of the state's strongest regions for Riesling, Shiraz, Cabernet and structured red blends. The current Lamont's collection includes wines from Swinney, Houghton, Nikola Estate and Duke's, with Riesling, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Malbec and Mourvèdre all represented.

The appeal here is cool-climate shape without losing depth. The Riesling brings citrus and line, while the reds tend to show firm structure, spice and savoury detail. It is a useful collection for customers who like Western Australian wines with tension, ageability and a bit more edge than simple fruit weight.
