Vineyard Notes – Les Folatières Premier Cru The Premier Cru Les Folatières is located on the westward slope of the village of Puligny-Montrachet, with an average gradient of 10%, at an altitude between 250 and 272 metres, and an orientation towards the southeast. The soil is brown-red in colour, 40–60 centimetres deep, and very rich in angular white limestone rocks. The subsoil is composed of compact limestone that crumbles into thick slabs, historically quarried as “Pierre de Chassagne” (Stone of Chassagne).
“Mid lemon yellow with a light green tint. Leaner fruit on the nose, yet ripe enough on the palate, a bit buttery at the finish even, after some brisk citrus and orchard fruit up front. Medium length.”
