Collection: Blanc de Blancs Champagne

Salon Le Mesnil, Pierre Peters, Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Louis, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne and Legras & Haas lead this Blanc de Blancs Champagne range, made only from white grapes (in practice, this almost always means 100% Chardonnay), in vintage and non-vintage styles.

Most Blanc de Blancs comes from the Cote des Blancs, where chalk soils give Chardonnay finesse, precision and a long, mineral finish. Villages such as Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, Cramant and Avize are central to the style. The style tends to be lighter on its feet when young and gains richness with age, so mature vintage examples are especially rewarding. Many of the wines here are labelled Grand Cru.

From the houses there is Salon Le Mesnil, Krug Clos du Mesnil, Billecart-Salmon Cuvee Louis, Taittinger Comtes de Champagne, Dom Ruinart, Delamotte and Pol Roger. Growers are well represented by Pierre Peters, including Reserve Oubliee, Legras & Haas, Lilbert-Fils and Agrapart. The range covers vintage and non-vintage wines, from half bottles to magnums, including mature vintages.
