Average Critic Score: 93.5/100

Precision, balance and site expression sit at the core of the Legras & Haas philosophy. Their wines are quietly confident, favouring clarity and texture over excess, and have become increasingly recognised by critics for their purity and finesse.

Producer Notes:
“Les Sillons” is an emotional wine and the result of twenty years of experimentation in our most unique parcel. Its name is a nod to the beauty of these landscapes, the hard work in the vineyards and our trademark perseverance. Its incredible freshness, saline texture and austere structure promise an unforgettable tasting experience filled with emotions, intensity and honesty. A rarity.

93 Points, James Suckling, James Suckling.com
Lovely, leesy character with notes of praline, pie crust, sourdough croissants, baked apples and spiced pears. Vibrant and tangy acidity. Medium body with fine, energetic bubbles. Deliciously biscuity to the end. Dosage 5g/L. Disgorged in April 2022. Drink or hold.

Critic Reviews

94 Points - Tom Hewson, Decanter

“Jérôme Legras has been refining this single-parcel blanc de blancs sourced from a cool, late-ripening plot near Epernay since 2012 and today it stands as one of the village’s most impressive wines. There’s a marriage of compact, mature baked apple fruit and sweet lemon, beautifully measured oak, acacia honey and subtle bitters, beguiling with its inner freshness and drive, avoiding over-dryness or angularity. Remarkably complete and joyful for a single-parcel wine.”

94 Points - Alison Napjus, Wine Spectator

“A bright, harmonious Champagne, with a chalky underpinning to the finely meshed flavors of creamed pear, salted almond, white blossoms and pink grapefruit pith. Long and plush on the minerally finish.”

93 Points - Falstaff

“Medium straw yellow with golden reflections. Delicate herbal savouriness, a hint of roasted pineapple, ripe mango and some blossom honey on the nose, with nuances of cookie and white nougat. Medium complexity on the palate with a core of white peach backed by a fine acidity. The ripe tropical fruit on the finish lends a sweet touch to the aftertaste. Already well developed, with some grapefruit notes on the finish.”

93 Points - Roger Voss, Wine Enthusiast

“Based in Chouilly at the entrance to the Côte des Blancs, this firm has produced a fine mature Chardonnay Champagne. With its yeasty aroma and tight mineral and toast texture, it is a rich wine that is cut with acidity. Drink now.”
