The 2019 Brunello comes from one of the great recent vintages in Montalcino, widely rated a classic for its balance and freshness. From organic Sangiovese on galestro marl, aged three years in large oak, it is deep yet poised: dark cherry, dried herb and a savoury, mineral undertow, with firm but ripe tannins that promise a long life. A serious Brunello from a rising estate. Cellar through the 2030s.

Tenuta Buon Tempo (Montalcino)
Organic Sangiovese specialist at Castelnuovo dell'Abate, sheltered by Monte Amiata. Brunello given long maceration and three years in large oak; wines of freshness and balance rather than weight, built to age.

Critic Reviews

95 Points - Danielle Callegari, Wine Enthusiast

“The earthy, savory nose features aromas of hot tar, crushed rocks, freshly brewed coffee and dried cherries. On the palate, cranberries fortify that cherry element, while a mocha sweetness contrasts with a warm, earthy, peppery spiciness that's lifted by fiery acidity.”

94 Points - James Suckling, jamessuckling.com

“Lively and crunchy red cherries, orange peel and cherry blossom with lifted floral notes of violets and roses. Medium-bodied with fine-grained, juicy tannins. Good length with a citrusy aftertaste. Energetic yet sophisticated. Keep until 2026.”

92 Points - Audrey Frick, jebdunnuck.com

“A youthful ripe ruby color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino is ripe and forward with aromas of crushed blackberries, baking spices, cedar, and leather. Full-bodied, with grippy structure, it saturates the palate with ripe fruit and tannins that build on the finish. Retaining good freshness even though it's more grounded in its personality this is a ripe style with a good bit of complexity, and it's going to show at its best over the next 7-8 years. Located in Castelnuovo dell'Abate, the southeast corner of the region, Tenuta Buon Tempo has been farming organically since the 1990s and has been certified since 2018. (Drink between 2024-2032)”

92 Points - Eric Guido, Vinous

“The 2019 Brunello di Montalcino is wild, mixing tangerine zest with rose petals, wet stones, fresh-picked strawberries, stems and more. It possesses depths of dark red fruit and minerals, all buffered by a dense textural wave of pure silk. Sweet spices and cocoa hints create a push and pull of contrast through the finish as dusty tannins add a subtle tension. The 2019 is a pleasure bomb, yet balance is expertly maintained. This will only require a short stay in the cellar to show its best. (Drink between 2025-2032)”
