Abruzzo
Pietraia
Pietraia is a small Abruzzo label focused on the region's native grapes and organic farming. Abruzzo runs from the high Apennines down to the Adriatic, a place of warm days and cool mountain nights that suits its two signature varieties: the crisp, aromatic white Pecorino, revived from near-extinction a few decades ago, and the deep, generous red Montepulciano. These are honest, everyday wines made for the table, fresh and unfussy, and offered at a price that makes them easy to pour often.

The Indent Offer.
Our pre-arrival offer is open. Under the en primeur system you reserve the wines before they reach Australia, and in return we hold them at heavily reduced indent prices for pre-payment.
To secure your order now, you can purchase the wines below directly through the online store. Alternatively, you may use our 2026 Indent Order Request Form, where you can choose wines from any producer on this shipment in one place. As quantities are limited, submitted order request forms are filled on a first-in, first-served basis. However you order, we will hold your bottles at the indent price, with payment required before the wines arrive in August, and confirm pick up or delivery once the container lands.

2025 Abruzzo Pecorino
Indent price: $19.00 per bottle
Pecorino is one of central Italy's revived treasures, a native white grape pulled back from near-extinction and now prized for its freshness. This organic Abruzzo example is crisp and aromatic: pear and white peach, a citrus-peel lift and a stony, herbal finish. Bright and unoaked, it is built for the table, at home with seafood and a sunny afternoon alike.
2022 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo
Indent price: $19.00 per bottle
Montepulciano d'Abruzzo is Italy's great everyday red, deeply coloured and generous, and this is a friendly, well-priced example. Ripe black cherry and plum, soft tannins and a juicy, savoury finish, it asks for nothing more than a plate of pasta or a pizza. Easy, satisfying and built for drinking rather than keeping.
