Why we follow Tolpuddle

The estate

The vineyard was planted to Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in 1988 and later bought by Martin Shaw and Michael Hill Smith MW of Shaw + Smith, who renamed it after the Tolpuddle Martyrs — transported English labour organisers, one of whom, George Loveless, worked land now under vine. Adam Wadewitz has made the wines since 2013, with the fruit taken to the mainland for vinification. Tolpuddle is a single-site estate making only Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sold through an allocation list.
