Bright red-ruby colour. A knockout, multidimensional nose of red berries, liquorice, orange peel and smoky minerality. Dense, sappy and sweet, with a strong emphasis on soil-driven character rather than overt fruit. Saline notes, orange peel and liquorice carry through to a wonderfully tactile finish with lift and subtle new oak. Improved steadily in the glass. (ST)
