Brancaia

Brancaia was founded in 1981, when Bruno and Brigitte Widmer from Switzerland bought a 20-hectare property in Castellina in Chianti, with a house in need of renovation. In 1989 they added an estate in Radda, where the winery was built, and in 1998 land in the Maremma on the Tuscan coast. Their daughter Barbara Widmer has run the vineyards and winemaking on all three estates since 1998.

About Brancaia

The wines are certified organic. The range runs from a Chianti Classico of pure Sangiovese and a Riserva to Tre, a blend from all three estates, and Il Blu, first made in 1988. Ilatraia comes from the Maremma estate.
