Mauro Veglio

Mauro Veglio farms in La Morra, in the heart of Barolo. His father Angelo, a sharecropper, bought the family's first vineyard in Gattera. Mauro took over in 1986 and first bottled the wines under his own name in 1992, and since 2017 he has run the estate together with his nephew Alessandro Veglio.

About Mauro Veglio

About 19 hectares supply a run of single-vineyard Barolos: Gattera, Arborina and Rocche dell'Annunziata in La Morra, Castelletto in Monforte, Paiagallo in Barolo and a bottling from Serralunga. The style began in the modern camp, with small barrels and short macerations, and has moved to a middle way, with new oak held to 30 percent and some crus aged in large casks. The vineyards are farmed without herbicides or synthetic fertilisers.
