Moreau

J. Moreau & Fils is the oldest négociant house in Chablis. Jean-Joseph Moreau, a cooper, founded it in 1814, and the Moreau family ran it until selling to the Canadian group Hiram Walker between 1974 and 1985. It has belonged to the Boisset group since the late 1990s, with Lucie Depuydt as winemaker.

About Moreau

The range covers the Chablis hierarchy, all Chardonnay: Petit Chablis, Chablis, the Premiers Crus Montmains, Vaillons and Fourchaume, and the Grands Crus Valmur and Les Clos. The Moreau family kept its own vineyards, including the Clos des Hospices, and now bottles them separately as Domaine Christian Moreau.
