Tenuta Le Calcinaie

Tenuta Le Calcinaie is the estate of Simone Santini in San Gimignano, where he is owner, winemaker and agronomist. He planted his first hectare of Vernaccia, the Vigna ai Sassi, in the mid-1980s and released his first Vernaccia in 1995. The vineyards have been farmed organically since 1995 and certified since 1998.

About Tenuta Le Calcinaie

The estate now covers 12 hectares, about half Vernaccia and most of the rest Sangiovese, and makes around 70,000 bottles. The range covers Vernaccia di San Gimignano, the Vernaccia Riserva Vigna ai Sassi, Chianti Colli Senesi and its Riserva Santa Maria, and Teodoro, a Tuscan red.
