Xavier Durand

Domaine Xavier Durand is a small family estate in Comblanchien, at the southern end of the Côte de Nuits. Xavier's grandfather Alexis founded it with vines in Côte de Nuits-Villages, Bourgogne and Ladoix. His father René added Corton in 1984 and Aloxe-Corton in 1985, and Xavier, whose first vintage was 2009, added Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Charmois and Aloxe-Corton Les Chaillots and moved the cellar to gravity.

About Xavier Durand

The domaine farms about seven hectares, all owned, with vines between 35 and 80 years old spread over 11 kilometres from Aloxe-Corton to Nuits-Saint-Georges. Côte de Nuits-Villages is the largest holding and the Corton Rognet Grand Cru is the top wine. New oak is kept to 25 percent or less, and the wines are bottled unfiltered.
