2007 Jean-Marie Fourrier Gevrey-Chambertin 1er Cru Cherbaudes Vieille Vigne

Critic Reviews
92 Points - Stephen Tanzer, Vinous
“Good medium red. Red raspberry, smoky minerality and a whiff of crushed rocks on the inviting nose. Dense, ripe and impressively rich, with the rocky quality carrying through in the mouth and leavening the wine's impression of glyceral sweetness. Wonderfully round, broad wine with a very long, ripely tannic, building finish.”
90 Points - David Schildknecht, Wine Advocate
“Marrow and meat stock dominate, but ripe red fruits, licorice, and crushed stone add to the interest of Fourrier's 2007 Gevrey-Chambertin Cherbaudes. Firm tannins - allied with the sense of stoniness - make for a somewhat austere aspect, but glycerin richness and concentration of red berries and meat stock help keep the feel from degenerating into rusticity or roughness. The intense interplay of meat, berry and rock renders the finish memorably long and interesting. I suspect this will age nicely for 7-10 years.”
