2012 Houghton Jack Mann Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic Reviews
96 Points - Mike Bennie, The Wine Front
“A riper, deeper iteration of Jack Mann, set to an incredible length of flavour, chewy, fine, sinewy, dusty and fruit driven, yet imbued with life-giving tannins. Such detail in the draw and pucker. Dark berry fruit, bayleaf, fennel and sweet lavender scents. Sweet fruited to taste, licks of tobacco and cedar, but seamlessly matched by the firmish, succulent structure and the burr of clean, fresh acidity. The gentle, subtle, building tugs of tannin close this very fine deal. Beautiful. I drank deep over days. (Drink between 2015-2035) (96+ pts)”
95 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
“A classic, pure exposition of cabernet, with blackcurrant, bay leaf and dried herbs on the bouquet and palate, fine, but decidedly persistent cabernet tannins making sure you don't get off the hook too easily. So relax, and try to enjoy it, but realise this is a 30-year wine. Special. Closure: Screwcap. 14% alcohol. AUD$115 (Drink by 2042)”
