2021 Bouchard Pere & Fils Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru

Critic Reviews
93 Points - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
“Offering up aromas of dark berries, cassis, burning embers, spices and licorice, the 2021 Clos Vougeot Grand Cru is medium to full-bodied, rich, layered and textural, with powdery tannins and an unusually muscular, broad-shouldered profile for the vintage. (91-93 pts)”
90 Points - Neal Martin, Vinous
“The 2021 Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru has a little reduction on the nose, though there is satisfying brambly red fruit here, sous-bois and freshly picked rose aromas. Fine delineation. The palate feels just a little muddled at first with chewy tannins and red berry fruit laced with orange rind and a bit of capsicum. Solid and a bit unyielding on the finish, this is just missing finesse and charm. Given its showing from barrel, I suspect it might be just entering a dumb phase. Tasted blind at the Burgfest tasting.”
