Lay & Wheeler Producer Overview:
Aurélien Verdet still flies under the radar, but his are Burgundies not to be missed. They have the purity and personality of the best Pinot Noir and he adapts every vintage beautifully to the style of the season. His cellars are tucked away in the quiet village of Arcenant in the Hautes-Côtes de Nuits and he keeps a fairly low profile, preferring to spend his time in his organically farmed vineyards.

Vins Divins Tasting Notes:
The Prieure red is reminiscent of a Nuits-Saint-Georges with an intensely aromatic, ripe raspberry bouquet and concentrated palate. The Prieure has a crystalline nose of lime zest and mineral stoniness with a full body and mouth watering acidity.

Vins Divins Vineyard Overview:
This plot was planted 55 years ago and is certified organic since 1971. There are 5 hectares for red and 0.5 hectares white. It is on a south facing slope behind the charming village of Arcenant 5 miles west of Nuits St Georges Soils: limestone & clay with occasional rock bands 30 cm below the surface which ensures low yield and high quality.
