Predominantly from the certified organic Bricco San Pietro vineyard east of Monforte d'Alba. Ten per cent whole cluster, filled by gravity, a two-week maceration and malolactic completed in November, then eleven months in concrete alone - no barrel at all - followed by a year in bottle before release. No fining, no filtration. Just 2,860 bottles and 150 magnums.
There was no benefit, to my palate, to go beyond twelve months in barrel. - Tom Nicholson-Myers
This is the clearest expression yet of the shift toward concrete at Cantina d'Arcy: a fragrant, transparent, medium-bodied Langhe Nebbiolo built on perfume and drive rather than extract. 2023 was a smaller crop in the Langhe after an August heat spike, and growers report elegant wines with soft, unexaggerated tannins - well suited to this handling. Ready to enjoy now with a few years in reserve.
