2002 Vasse Felix Heytesbury Cabernet Blend

Critic Reviews
96 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
“Powerful and concentrated as befits this icon; beautifully ripened cassis/blackcurrant fruit; impeccable texture and structure; long finish. High quality cork.”
91 Points - Robert M. Parker, Jr., Wine Advocate
“The impressive, dense ruby/purple-colored 2002 Heytesbury Proprietary Red, primarily Cabernet Sauvignon with tiny dollops of Merlot, Malbec, and Shiraz, offers up scents of cigar smoke, dried Provencal herbs, blackberries, and currants. It is the fullest-bodied, most concentrated and structured of the Vasse Felix offerings. Chocolate, cedar, and black currant characteristics appear in the flavor profile of this moderately tannic offering. Give it 1-2 more years of bottle age, and consume it over the following 10-12.”
91 Points - Josh Raynolds, Vinous
“Deep ruby. Powerful and expressive on the nose, with urgent blackcurrant, dark cherry, mocha and black tea aromas lifted by a bright mineral tone. There's considerable weight and depth to the wine's dark berry and ripe cherry flavors, with round, supple tannins accentuating the impression of power. The tannins spread out on the back, with the dark berry fruit showing impressive purity. Offers an attractive blend of brightness and depth.”
