2021 Cullen Legacy Series Kevin John Fruit Day Chardonnay

Critic Reviews
97 Points - James Suckling
“Incredibly fruit-driven, with deeply complex notes of preserved lemons, lanolin, beeswax, ocean spray and gunsmoke. The palate is medium-bodied with wonderfully integrated notes of lime curd, shortbread, orange blossom and flint. Soaked on skins for two days in amphora before fermentation in barrel. What a wine! Drink or hold. Screw cap.”
95 Points - Erin Larkin, Wine Advocate
“In the context of the tasting-and context is the key to unlocking most of the answers in wine-this 2021 Kevin John Legacy Series Fruit Day Chardonnay is balanced, svelte, long and velvety. In the context of other Chardonnays from Margaret River (and Australia), this is a monumentally powerful wine that makes itself the protagonist in the story, most others deuteragonist. Phenolic drive interlocks with explosive Gingin acidity, propelling the ripe fruit across the palate. Power like the swell of the ocean is what's felt here, nothing less. It's an astounding achievement from this dry-grown, biodynamic and organic vineyard in Wilyabrup. 14.3% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.”
92 Points - Wine Spectator
“Shows juicy and appealingly fleshy notes of peach, marmalade and wildflower honey, with details of cardamom, pastry, lemon zest and freshly grated ginger. The intensity builds on the long finish. Drink now. 150 cases imported.”
