The 2021 San Giusto a Rentennano Percarlo is one of Tuscany’s benchmark expressions of Sangiovese. Made from 100% estate-grown fruit, selected bunch by bunch from the estate’s finest vineyard parcels, Percarlo captures the depth, intensity and unmistakable savoury beauty that has made San Giusto a Rentennano one of the great names of Chianti Classico.
The 2021 release is powerful yet beautifully composed, with layers of dark cherry, blackcurrant, violet, spice, earth, liquorice and fine Tuscan herbs. There is impressive concentration here, but also freshness, chalky tannin and a long, persistent finish that speaks to both the vintage and the estate’s meticulous work in the vineyard and cellar.
A serious cellar wine with real presence, Percarlo is built for long ageing, yet already shows the balance and detail that make great Sangiovese so compelling. A superb bottle for collectors, lovers of Tuscan reds, or anyone looking for a grander, more profound take on Chianti country.
