Isole e Olena is one of the great names of Chianti Classico, famous for Cepparello, but its Collezione Privata Chardonnay has quietly become one of Tuscany's most convincing white wines. The 2022 Isole e Olena Chardonnay comes from a warm vintage and shows it with generosity and intensity held in check by fresh acidity. It earned 95 points from Monica Larner (Wine Advocate), 95 points from Aldo Fiordelli (James Suckling), who called it much improved on the past, 94 points from Antonio Galloni (Vinous) and 92 points from Wine Spectator.

I love the unabashed intensity of this warm vintage. The acidity is present, and the bouquet is singing strong. That medley of ripe fruit and oak spice pushes over the medium to full-bodied mouthfeel and gives the wine long persistence.”
