Average Critic Score: 92.5/100 based on 2 critic reviews

Domaine Denis Mortet is one of the leading names in Gevrey-Chambertin, and under Arnaud Mortet the house style has moved from power towards finesse while keeping the depth that made its reputation. Mes Cinq Terroirs is the domaine's village Gevrey, blended from five parcels in the north of the appellation, and it is widely regarded as one of the best village wines in Burgundy. The 2023 Domaine Denis Mortet Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs Magnum 1.5L earned 91-93 points from Neal Martin (Vinous) and 90-92 points from William Kelley (Wine Advocate), and in magnum, where wine evolves more slowly, it will reward patience.

Aromas of orange zest, sweet red berries, cherries and rose petals preface Mortet's 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs, a medium to full-bodied, fleshy and layered wine that's deep but suave, with polished tannins and a long, perfumed finish. This has turned out beautifully. - William Kelley, Wine Advocate (90-92 pts)

A magnum of serious village Gevrey for the cellar or a generous table.

Critic Reviews

93 Points - Neal Martin, Vinous

“The 2023 Gevrey-Chambertin Mes Cinq Terroirs, from parcels in the north of the appellation, is matured in one- to three-year-old barrels, Mortet regaling the latter as something that enhances the wines by lessening the wood impact. It has a very well-defined bouquet with raspberry and crushed strawberry fruit, the one-third whole bunch imparting light white-peppery scents. The palate is well balanced with a sharp entry-a more angular Gevrey with plenty of spice on the finish. Superb. (91-93 pts)”

92 Points - William Kelley, Wine Advocate
