Albesani, in Neive, is one of Barbaresco's grand crus, and Massolino's single-vineyard bottling shows why. Where the site's wines are often big and broad, Massolino opt for a lighter extraction that draws out elegance and detail: floral top notes, red cherry and plum, blood orange and crushed rock, carried by ripe, velvety tannins and a bright spine of acidity. A sophisticated, ageworthy Barbaresco.

“The 2023 Barbaresco Albesani soars from the glass with floral top notes, citrus nuances and red-toned fruit. A wine of elegance and sophistication, the Albesani is impressive. A relatively light extraction brings out the more refined side of Albesani, a site where the wines are often bigger and broader. Aromas of raspberries, cranberries, toasted spice, wildflowers, and baked earth lift from the glass.
