Les Chaumes is a village Chassagne lieu-dit on lighter, warmer soil, and it gives one of the more open, approachable whites in the cellar. Expect ripe pear and citrus, a gentle creaminess, and the mineral edge that never quite leaves a Morey wine. Less demanding than the premier crus, it is the one to pour while they sleep in the cellar. Drink over the next five years.
