2023 Nicole Lamarche Echezeaux Grand Cru

Lamarche's Echezeaux comes from just over a hectare at the southern end of the Grand Cru, spread across Le Clos Saint-Denis and Les Cruots ou Vignes Blanches - the latter, as Christy Canterbury MW puts it, looking like a panhandle extending off the former - where Echezeaux runs up against Vosne-Romanee's Les Suchots. Vines average thirty years and are worked to meagre yields. Canterbury scored the 2023 96 points and called it the best Echezeaux she has tasted from the estate.

This is super suave and fiercely aromatic with awe inspiring dimension. Dried cranberries, blood orange, fresh tea leaves, anise, lavender and savory spice... the list could go on.
