The 2000 was a challenging vintage in the Great Southern, with late-season rain creating variable conditions across the region. Where fruit was harvested at the right moment, the wines carry a leaner, more restrained character than the warmer years that surround them. At 25 years of age the 2000 shows a cooler-climate style: earthy and spiced, with dark fruit that has developed a measured, savoury maturity and a composed, unhurried finish. A wine for those who appreciate elegance over concentration.

Critic Reviews

90 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion

“Medium red-purple; fragrant aromas of spice, cedar and blackberry lead into a palate with complex structure; black cherry and spice flavours provide the initial impact, then lingering tannins and a long, savoury finish. A resplendent new label, and the wine incorporates some material from Geographe for the first time.”

90 Points - Jeremy Oliver, Oliver's Wines
