Critic Reviews
95 Points - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Enthusiast
“Charles Melton’s Nine Popes (grenache, shiraz, mataro) blend is in fine form. Complex and meaty, flushed with chunky raspberried, blackberried, boysenberried fruit flavour and yet long, fine and structured, too. A powerful wine with the texture to thrill as a young wine, and the length and finesse and tannin to perform excellently in the cellar. Not plush or plump, but significant in its sense of fruit power.”
96 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
“A synergistic blend (Shiraz/Grenache) in this wine with no confection characters whatsoever; has wonderful texture in the layers of black and red fruits, oak and tannins in a calibrated support role.”
