2009 Leeuwin Estate Museum ‘Art Series’ Chardonnay

Critic Reviews
97 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
“Craftmanship of the highest order in the vineyard and winery have combined to create a perfect example with this wine. The intensity and power unwind effortlessly, but with multiple aroma and flavour messages from the barrel fermentation and subsequent maturation of the fully ripe, pink grapefruit and peach at its core. Special. (Drink by 2024)”
93 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front
“Pureed pear, ripe mixed citrus, cashews and cedary cinnamon spice oak, better integrated early on this year. Full bodied and typical of the 'power, length and glory' style Leeuwin vintages - long on intensity and palate weight, though there's a pleasant flintiness here too, and an almost tannic, crunchy grapefruit and lime finish. A strong performance of the larger scale vintage Leeuwin Art Series Chardonnay opera. (93+ pts)”
93 Points - Josh Raynolds, Vinous
“Light yellow. Pungent aromas of tangerine, peach and white flowers, complicated by a tropical fruit nuance. Juicy, spicy and intense, with tangy acidity lifting flavors of citrus and orchard fruits, ginger and anise. Becomes creamier and spicier with air and finishes on a subtle pineapple note, with impressive clarity and length.”
