"... stunning 2021 Margaret River Chardonnay Art Series shows beautiful racy lines with a slick and seamless style as it bursts with toasted cashews, melon, lemon peel and pith aromas lifted by mandarin rind. 98 Points - Angus Hughson, Vinous

“This stunning 2021 Margaret River Chardonnay Art Series shows beautiful racy lines with a slick and seamless style as it bursts with toasted cashews, melon, lemon peel and pith aromas lifted by mandarin rind. Fabulous fruit density with immense power yet retaining refinement and shape over a long, strong finish. Energetic, vibrant, perfectly formed and built for the long haul. (Drink between 2030-2044)”

97 Points - Jasper Morris, Inside Burgundy

“Pithy white grapefruit, flint and lime skin sit above high quality nougat and salt crust in a lifted and intense opening, before an unfolding of praline, florals, ginger, cedar and saline minerality. Air and warmth unlock riper notes of nectarine, quince and lees derived salted pastry dough making for an overall complex and defined aromatic profile. The palate has excellent power, texture and structure, commanding the mouth with waves of grapefruit, salted lime, nectarine skin, citrus preserves, nuts and cedar in a creamy but tensile aesthetic. The wine's acidity is a feature, piercing through it all along with chalky phenolics cutting the fat to elicit salivating freshness, and saline length. Incredibly long length, in fact. This has so much presence and power while still finely detailed and complex. An outstanding release.”

97 Points - James Suckling, James Suckling

“Extremely complex and classy on the nose with aromas of lemon peel, flint, nectarines, sea salt and minerals. The palate is tightly wound with high-tension acidity, generous mouthfeel and an underlying power, showing notes of lime curd, mandarin pith, orange blossoms, baking spices and gunsmoke. Very complete and made for the ages. Excellent. Drink or hold. Crown cap.”

97 Points - Gary Walsh, The Wine Front

“I seem to have missed tasting the 2020 LEAS Chardonnay, which is kind of disappointing. It's a blip in my Leeuwin radar, given I've tasted every one of them on release since the 1992 vintage. Anyway, teeth gnashing aside, the bottle seems to be lighter these days, which is very good. Pear, lime, grapefruit, floral too, with a distinct mint/aniseed top note, backed with discreet spicy cinnamon/ginger oak. It's fresh and lively, quite saline too, flinty and chalky, a honey ginger drink character in the mix, along with a cucumber coolness and biscuit spices, a whole lot of presence and power here, delivered in a kind of understated, but confident way. The finish is very long, and refreshing. Gee, this is good wine. It ripples through the mouth like a flat white stone pitched across a cool lake. That's an image for you, and I'll leave you with that. (Drink between 2025-2040)”
