Gimblett Gravels

Gimblett Gravels is one of Hawke's Bay's most distinctive subregions, known for free-draining stony soils and structured red wines. The current Lamont's collection is focused on one bottle, the 2019 Villa Maria Ngakirikiri Gimblett Gravels Cabernet Sauvignon.

This is a useful wine for customers who enjoy Cabernet with firmness, dark fruit and savoury shape, but want to look outside the familiar Australian regions. The style is well suited to beef, lamb, slow-cooked dishes or a few more years in the cellar.
