2012 Leeuwin Estate Museum ‘Art Series’ Chardonnay

Critic Reviews
98 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
“A very youthful bright green-quartz colour sets the scene for a riveting wine of exquisite purity and finesse. It almost floats in the mouth, so effortless is its invocation of all things chardonnay: white flowers, white stone fruits and immaculately balanced acidity. Oak? Well, yes it's there, but rendered mute by the fruit. Has greater staying power than any other Australian chardonnay. Special. (Drink by 2032)”

“A wine with amazing richness and depth. So much apple pie character yet minerally underneath. Full body, so much length. Gorgeous.”
95 Points - Sarah Ahmed, Decanter
“Drink Leeuwin's aptly named Prelude now and stash away this Art Series, a famously long haul Chardonnay. Classic perfumed dried pear and oak spice, incisive citrus and plenty of oomph; it displays muscle and drive. Long and tapered, showing a tight finish.”
95 Points - Georgina Hindle, Decanter
“A gorgeous nose full of grassy, herbal notes with lemon verbena and green honeysuckle. Thick and glossy on the palate yet pristine too. This has both a slight oiliness as well as being tight, lean and clear with lots of peach and pear flavours. Mouthwatering with a salty undercurrent that gives accents and focus. An extremely satisfying wine, unctuous but not heavy. It carries some muscle still with a super long finish. Finessed and moreish.”
