Morgeot is the largest and most powerful of Chassagne's premier crus, on deeper clay-rich soil that builds breadth rather than tension. Morey draws a richer, rounder wine from a younger parcel here: yellow stone fruit and toasted hazelnut, a broad palate, and a savoury, saline finish that keeps it fresh. The most generous of his Chassagne crus, and an earlier drinker. Enjoy from 2027.

“Mid lemon yellow, almost a green tint. Slightly reductive but still with some flesh behind. Young vines here, planted in 2018, but that doesn't stop the elegance. Lively, floral, a little lime blossom, no great weight but beautifully balanced in pure white fruit. A small crop as they have just switched this to guyot poussard pruning. Original score: 91-94 points”
