Farrside comes from a northeast-facing slope of black volcanic soil over limestone at Bannockburn, planted in 2001. Picked up to two weeks after the other By Farr vineyards, it consistently produces the most structured and savoury of the single-vineyard Pinots, matured in 50 to 60 per cent new Allier oak.
Expect deep, meaty, spicy and mineral notes around a balanced core of red and black fruits. Fresh and edgy with real character, this is a firm yet delicate wine with a long, textured finish.
From Wine by Farr, named The Real Review Winery of the Year Australia 2025.
