Why we follow Château Margaux

The estate

The First Growth of the Margaux appellation, and for many the most beautiful estate in all Bordeaux, its neo-classical château as famous as its wine. Owned by the Mentzelopoulos family, it is a byword for fragrance and elegance.

The vineyards

Around 100 hectares on fine, deep gravel, Cabernet Sauvignon led with Merlot, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc. A small parcel of Sauvignon Blanc produces the rare white, Pavillon Blanc.

In the glass

Margaux is all perfume and silk: violets, redcurrant, cedar and a floral lift, with tannins of extraordinary fineness. Elegant in youth, profound with age.
