2000 Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon

Critic Reviews
93 Points - James Halliday, Halliday Wine Companion
“Medium red-purple; the fragrant bouquet has a sophisticated mix of savoury, spicy blackberry and blackcurrant aromas, the palate with unexpected power and concentration to the richly layered dark fruit flavours, completed by lingering tannins on the finish. A blend of 76 per cent Margaret River and 24 per cent Frankland River material, one hundred per cent Cabernet Sauvignon.”
85 Points - Jeremy Oliver, Vinous
“Full red. Dusty, perfumed aromas of cassis, mulberry, raspberry, plum and mint, with slightly cooked background notes of prune and raisin. There's fragrant vanillin oak here as well as menthol-like herbal regional influences. A polished, silky cabernet with a jammy aspect to its intense flavors of small fruits and chocolate. Finishes earthy and minty, with approachable, open tannins. This wine is usually principally sourced from the Great Southern region, but the difficult 2000 season there prevented this.”
