2004 Howard Park 'Leston' Shiraz

Critic Reviews
94 Points - James Halliday, Wine Companion
“Medium red-purple; radically different to the Scotsdale Shiraz; warm aromas, and a mix of predominantly black fruits (blackberry) and some red cherry; French oak obvious.”
92 Points - Jeremy Oliver, Oliver's Wines
“A violet-like perfume of cassis, raspberries, redcurrant and sweet cedar/vanilla oak is backed by spicy, licorice-like undertones. Fine, polished and elegant, its smooth, willowy and spotless palate of medium to full weight bursts with intense flavours of red and black berries with nuances of dark plums and tomato stalk. It finishes savoury, with a fine coating of tight-knit tannins.”
91 Points - Vinous

91 Points - Joe Czerwinski, Wine Companion
“A gorgeous example of Shiraz from Margaret River, the 2004 Leston bottling is big without being bulky, soft without being flabby. It's generously endowed with cassis and cherry fruit, seamlessly integrated with notes of vanilla, tobacco and dried spices.”
