Domaine Humbert Freres is a small Gevrey-Chambertin estate run by brothers Frederic and Emmanuel Humbert, cousins of the Dugat family with whom they share several old parcels. This is their starting point, drawn from vines in Gevrey and neighbouring Brochon under the Cote d'Or denomination, which holds growers to tighter standards than straight Bourgogne. Sweet red-berry fruit, medium weight and supple, it carries a thread of the seriousness found further up the range. Effectively a baby Gevrey.
Domaine Humbert Frères (Gevrey-Chambertin) A tiny seven-hectare Pinot Noir estate run by brothers Frédéric and Emmanuel Humbert, cousins of the Dugat family. Old vines, low yields and a traditional, unshowy cellar make deep, structured wines built for the cellar.
